Bio & Treatment Philosophy
Steven maintains a general psychotherapy practice in the Madison community of Davidson County. He holds a master's degree in clinical social work and a master's in business administration with a specialization in health care management. He is a licensed clinical social worker through the Tennessee Health Related Boards. He is certified as a sex therapist through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT). He has over twenty-five years of professional experience in inpatient and outpatient mental health settings treating a variety of mental health diagnoses.
Treatment Philosophy
Steven's approach can best be described as holistic, humanistic, and integrative. This eclectic model allows him to choose interventions that best suit the specific needs of the individual clients(s).
Steven serves a very diverse caseload of clients from different backgrounds and circumstances. He understands that healing relationships should be free of shame and moral judgment and he strives to create a comfortable environment for each client. He does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, or sexual orientation. Steven honors the codes of ethics of the National Association of Social Workers and the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists.
